About The Artist
I am an Australian Wildlife Artist and work in pastel. I paint what I am passionate about- animals and the natural world. I like to get ‘up close and personal’ especially in my portraits, cutting out any distractions and allowing the image to fill the frame. I started with pastels more than 20 years ago and now use them exclusively.
Apart from many awards and commendations at various N.S.W. shows, I have been successful on a National level in magazines such as ‘Australian Artist’, where I have received a first and a third as well as being a finalist 7 times in their challenges. I have had 2 articles published- in ‘Pastel Artist International’ and ‘Australian Artist’.
Internationally: I have also had paintings published in two books, ‘How to paint Still life’ published in 2003 and also in ‘How to Paint Portraits’ published in 2004. In 2010 I had an equine portrait published in ‘Ex Arte Equinus 4’
I have also won prizes in the ‘Pastel Journal 100’ competition in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012. In 2009 and 2010, I have been a finalist 4 times in ‘The Artist’s Magazine’.
